Abstract
This course introduces the students to interdisciplinary field work in aquatic systems. The aim is to learn modern sampling and analysis methods, to acquire informative data and to analyse the results to answer questions regarding the state and the relevant processes in a given river, lake or groudndwater system.

This course introduces the students to interdisciplinary field work in aquatic systems. The aim is to learn modern sampling and analysis methods, to acquire informative data and to analyse the results to answer questions regarding the state and the relevant processes in a given river, lake or groudndwater system.
Content
The course starts with introctions to the system to be analyzed (a river, lake our groundwater system) to the methods and the organization. During 2-3 field sampling campaigns the students apply different sampling and analysis methods. The samples are then analysed in small teams and during the last weeks interdisciplinary groups perform the analysis and synthesis of the results.
