Basics of classic and molecular bacterial diagnostics. Medical role of bacteria. Normal flora and pathogens. Epidemiology, virulence and molecular pathogenesis. Antibiotics, therapy and resistance mechanisms. Host pathogen interactions. Control of zoonotic infections as prophylactic means.
