Abstract
The goal of this course is to introduce the physics underlying quantuminformation science. The emphasis will be on the basic notions such asquantum entanglement and its use as a resource in informaton processing.
Objective
The goal of this course is to introduce the physics underlying quantum information science. The emphasis will be on the basic notions such as 1) quantum entanglement and its use as a resource in information processing; 2) quantum measurements and decoherence; 3) quantum error correction. The only prerequisite is the knowledge of basic quantum mechanics.
Content
Quantum entanglement, Bell's inequalities and Quantum teleportation, Quantum circuits, Quantum measurements and quantum operations, Principles of quantum error correction, Implementation in physical systems.
