Abstract
“Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital” aims at commercializing ideas, i.e. at innovation.
Objective
“Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital” aims at commercializing ideas, i.e. at innovation. Participants will be able - to assess the market potential of new “product-, service- or process ideas” - to plan the necessary steps from the “product-, service- or process idea” to market success - to put a “product-, service- or process idea” into a presentation and a document (business plan) which convinces outside people (e.g. venture capitalists) to finance and support the project - to recognize the relevant management problems on the way from idea to market success and to understand some ways to solve them
Content
The first seven sessions cover the background of creating a “product-, service- or process idea”, evaluating its potential success in the market, analyzing the own strengths and weaknesses, comparing them with external opportunities and threats. Particular emphasis will be on setting of objectives for the markets, on developing strategies, on human resource aspects, financing, planning and leadership issues. The presentation techniques will receive special attention. The second part of the course will be entirely devoted to create and elaborate a business plan for a “product-, service- or process idea” related to the topic of your studies or according to your own choice. The presentation to experts will be an excellent opportunity for critical reflection and lively discussion.
