Abstract

This lecture offers a compact introduction to atmospheric chemistry and physics. It provides a basic understanding of the composition of the atmosphere and of various transport processes. Several topics of environmental importance are explored including summer smog, stratospheric ozone depletion, greenhouse effect and climate change. For each topic basic theoretical concepts are provided.
