Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:00:00

Abstract

The course provides an overview on several interdisciplinary and quantitative approachs in the study of biological problems, including microcalorimetry, static and transient spectroscopical techniques, biosensors, advanced light microscopy techniques. A brief tutorial on Matlab is followed by numerical analysis and modelling examples of biological problems.

Objective

Provide an overview on some experimental and numerical approaches used in the study of protein dynamics and function, as well as on cell dynamics.

Content

The course starts with a refreshing on the necessary background information needed to understand the material discussed. Thereafter, the students are exposed to several interdisciplinary and quantitative approachs in the study of biological problems, including microcalorimetry, static and transient spectroscopical techniques, biosensors, advanced light microscopy techniques and numerical modelling of cellular events.
