Objective

In-depth knowledge about mechanisms of action and clinical efficacy of important herbal medicines. Critical evaluation of published data. Knowledge about therapeutic applications of isolated natural products, in particular in the areas of chemotherapeutics/antibiotics (selected examples).

Content

In-depth discussion of selected examples of herbal medicines taking into account most recent findings on their mechanism of action and on clinical efficacy, but also including new data on the biosynthesis of major constituents (if applicable). Discussion of selected examples of medically used natural products and structurally related derivatives (isolated compounds) with particular focus on antibacterial agents.
