Abstract

Mathematics I and II is an introduction to one- and multidimensional calculus and linear algebra emphasizing on numerical methods and applications

Objective

Mathematics I, II: The students are introduced to the basic methods and results of one- and multidimensional calculus and linear algebra and experience their usefulness via a series of paradigmatic applications.

Content

Basic calculus (one variable): functions, derivatives, introduction to ordinary differential equations, Taylor polynomials, complex numbers; using functions and ordinary differential equations in modelling dynamic processes, least squares method, inrtoduction to the use of mathematical computer software
