Abstract

Structure, biosynthesis and function of selected plant natural products

Objective

Understanding of plant-specific metabolic pathways, their evolution and their function.

Content

Introduction into the structure, biosynthesis, function, biotechnology and use of selected products of plant primary and secondary metabolism (carbohydrates, lignin, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, terpenoids, alkaloids, cyanogenic glycosides and glucosinolates. Selected examples of the ecological significance of such products and their evolution.
