Objective

Introduction to the mathematical description of signals and systems.

Content

Characterization and classification of signals (continuous-time and discrete-time). Signal analysis in the time and frequency domain, Fourier- and Laplace transforms. Linear time-invariant systems. Discrete-time signals and systems sampling theorems, discrete Fourier-transform, z-transform, DFT, FFT, digital filter structures, digital filter design.
