Abstract

The lecture comprises the significance, goals, prerequisites, ways and forms of technology transfer. Topics are directions, phases and decisive factors of the technology transfer process, assurance of intellectual property, ways and means of transfer of knowledge and know-how (co-operation or spin-offs) and case studies by guest speakers on selected typical cases.

Ability to successfully network in the innovation process.

Content

The increased pressure of time and competition requires more and more the ability to incorporate technological potentials from outside the company. The real art is the timely and successful transformation from "technology push" to "market pull". The lecture comprises the significance, goals, prerequisites, ways and forms of technology transfer within the context of technology and innovation management. Characteristics of modern key technologies, mastering of the time factor. Directions, phases and decisive factors of the technology transfer process. Early warning in technology development, assurance of intellectual property. Ways and means of transfer of knowledge and know-how: co-operation, spin-offs and start-ups, continuing education. Prerequisites and forms of successful transfer. Organisational solutions on different levels. Technology Parks and Science Parks. Actual situations and support instruments within Switzerland and abroad. Case studies by guest speakers on selected typical cases.
