Objective

Deepen the basic knowledge

Content

The Russian Revolution of 1917 proclaimed the principles of a new society. These were expressed also in new building types and an innovative understanding of architecture. Beside utopian projects there will be analysed in their political and cultural context e. g. worker’s clubs and communal dwellings. The interdependency of industrialization and construction activity will be examined. The relation between architecture and politics will be re-examined considering as example the collapse of the innovative concepts in the Stalin era.
