Abstract

Structure and function of eukaryotic genomes: concepts, key experiments, chromatin, mechanisms of transcription, replication, DNA-repair and recombination, epigenetics, reverse genetics.

Objective

Structure and function of eukaryotic genomes. Key experiments, concepts, classical and modern approaches. Main focus: chromatin structures, the molecular mechanisms of transcription, replication, DNA-repair and recombination, epigenetics, and reverse genetics.

Content

1. Eukaryotic genomes (sequence organization and genome stability). 2. Chromosomes (chromatin structure, structural and functional elements of chromosomes). 3. Genes (structure, molecular mechanisms of transcription and regulation). 4. Replication (molecular mechanisms and regulation). 5. DNA-repair and recombination (molecular mechanisms). 6. All topics are updated with classical key publications, recent publications, modern approaches and techniques.
