Abstract

Hormones in the regulation of plant function and development.

Objective

Understanding of the structure, biosynthesis, metabolism, molecular mode of action and interaction of endogenous plant growth regulators (phytohormones)

Content

Elucidation of the basic concepts in the model system Dictyostelium discoideum. Auxins, gibberellins, cytokinins, ethylene, abscisic acid, brassinosteroids, octadecanoids, salicylic acid in higher plants: history of discovery, structures, biosynthesis and metabolism, perception, signal transduction chains, effects on plants, interactions, application in agri- and horticulture, as well as plant biotechnology.
