Abstract

The objective of this new course is to introduce the students to the field ofheat transfer by convection. This heat transport process is intimately tiedto fluid dynamics, meaning that a solid background in this field is necessary.Convection has direct implications in various industries, ranging from microelectronicscooling to thermal shields protection for space-shuttle at re-entry.

Objective

The objective of this new course is to introduce the students to the field of heat transfer by convection. This heat transport process is intimately tied to fluid dynamics, meaning that a solid background in this field is necessary. Convection has direct implications in various industries, ranging from microscale cooling to space-shuttle re-entry.

Content

The course conent has four distinct parts: 1- Fundamentals of heat transfer 2- Boundary layer theory and applications 3- Forced convection 4- Natural Convection
