Abstract

Polytopes - the convex hulls of finite point sets - are central objects in Discrete Geometry, Convexity Theory, and in Optimization. We take these esthetically pleasing and mathematically challenging objects as a starting point to study the interplay of geometry and discrete structures.

Content

Polytopes: definition and examples, faces, face lattice, polarity, graphs of polytopes, face numbers of polytopes.
