Groundwater II
Grundwasser II
Last Updated: 2026-02-05 15:02:58
Abstract
Grundlagen zur quantitativen Beschreibung von Strömungs- und Transportvorgängen im Grundwasser
Objective
The course should make the students understand recent tools for the quantitative description of flows and transport in groundwater. The students should be enabled to use widely available modelling software in a correct way and to understand the inner workings on an operational level.
Content
Solution of the flow equation in 3 spatial dimensions, Finite difference methods, finite element methods, automatic calibration of models (Inverse modelling), Numerical solution of the transport equation using finite difference methods, random walk, coupling of transport and chemical reactions, density flows, Mutiphase flows, basics of geostatistics and stoachastic modleling, Applications A computer lab is integrated into the course as exercises in which all methods are practised with software.
