Objective
Basic socio-economic and cultural forms of forest and landscape perception are referred to conceptually and in examples and what both provide as resources and for sustainable management.
Content
Introduction to the cultural and historical context of resources; meaning of non-monetary values in forest and land-scape and approaches to their monetary valuation; forest and landscape as social resources; socio-economic di-mensions of forest and timber certification as well as marketability of forest commodities; what means resource to whom, particularly in cross-cultural comparison; basic concepts of nature conservation by contract are referred to as well as socio-economic and cultural aspects of negotiated problem solutions in nature conservation that matter in national and international contexts.
