Introduction of important concepts in nature and landscape conservation; planning of projects, conservation measures and controlling; preservation and maintenance of different biotope types; public relations in nature and landscape conservation; organisation and importance of nature conservation authorities.

Content

Introduction of the basic concepts of nature and landscape conservation; developing conservation projects and programs, supervision; comparison of different concepts for nature and landscape conservation (group work); content and structure of conservation projects, with presentation of examples of major technical projects (group work); preservation and maintenance of different biotope types, such as forest, forest edges, streams, wetlands and dry lean meadows (group work); introduction to public relations in nature and landscape conservation with excercises; insights into the organisation and importance of nature conservation authorities (visit to the Zurich cantonal authority).
