Abstract

The students solve a complex problem which is relevant to forestry in a largely unaided group.

Objective

Independent solution of cross-section oriented, interdisciplinary problems in project form.

Content

Projects are inspired by an idea, stimulus or problem. The students develop a project plan, gather the necessary information and collate the results in a suitable form. During a period of 5 to 10 days the students learn to set realistic goals, manage time, approach problems in workable units and follow a plan to its completion. The topics s may change from year to year, for example company analysis, biodiversity, management of storm damage, urban forestry etc.
