Objective

Basics of time-resolved EPR and pulse EPR spectroscopy. Kinetic studies of biological processes. Applications of pulse EPR for the determination of structure and dynamics of metalloenzymes and polymers.

Content

Introduction to time-resolved EPR and pulse EPR spectroscopy. Kinetic investigations of biological processes. Rapid freeze-quench EPR techniques, stopped-flow kinetics, studies of short-lived intermediates. Pulse EPR methodology, spin Hamiltonians, density operastor formalism, instrumentation. Pulse ENDOR methodology, nuclear modulation effect, one- and two-dimensional EPR spectroscopy, high-field EPR, electron-electron distance measurements. Applications of pulse EPR for the determination of structure and dynamics of metalloproteins and polymers.
