Objective

The course is an introduction to abstract and linear algebra and to their application in the theory of error correcting codes and in digital signal processing.

Content

Groups, rings, fields; Cooley-Tukey FFT and Good-Thomas FFT; Error correcting codes; RS-, BCH-, convolutional, turbo-, and ldpc codes; factor graphs and message passing algorithms
