Abstract

Der Bereich Praktika, Projekte, Seminare umfasst Lehrveranstaltungen in unterschiedlichen Formaten zum Erwerb von praktischen Kenntnissen und Fertigkeiten. Ausserdem soll selbstständiges Experimentieren und Gestalten gefördert, exploratives Lernen ermöglicht und die Methodik von Projektarbeiten vermittelt werden.

Objective

From Theory to Reality: Design, Build, and Test Your Own Antennas Wireless communication is everywhere—from smartphones and Wi-Fi to satellites and the Internet of Things. But have you ever wondered how antennas, the critical link in these systems, are actually designed and tested? This hands-on course offers you the chance to dive into the fascinating world of antenna engineering by building real, working antennas from scratch. Throughout the P&S course, you will explore the basics of dipole, patch, and broadband antennas using intuitive lectures and state-of-the-art simulation tools like Ansys HFSS. You will go beyond the screen by physically constructing antennas using everyday materials—yes, even soda cans and paper clips! Along the way, you'll learn how to evaluate antenna performance through real-world measurements, using lab equipment such as vector network analyzers and far-field test systems.
