Abstract

This course teaches the basics of pharmacoeconomics, pricing, and post-approval market access principles.

Objective

• Students can describe the core principles and basic techniques of pharmacoeconomics. • Students can describe the complexity of product value definition from different customer perspectives and explain how this is linked to new product planning and development strategies. • Students can apply basic pharmacoeconomic tools and identify critical issues and limitations of selected pharmacoeconomic evaluations • Students can develop a basic budget impact model for a pharmaceutical product

Content

Pharmacoeconomic methodologies; QoL measurement, cost-effectiveness and budget impact analysis; benefits and limitations of pharmacoeconomic assessments. Principles of pricing, reimbursement and market access processes in major healthcare systems.
