Abstract
The main objective of the course is to provide an overview about space propulsion systems like thermal propulsion systems, chemical propulsion systems and electrical propulsion systems. The secondary objective is to discuss all relevant equipment needed for propulsion systems and to introduce ongoing development and research projects for future propulsion systems enabling new missions.
Objective
By the end of the course, the student must be able to: Analyze propulsion system requirements, translate system requirements into propulsion requirements´justify propulsion system selection, prepare a propulsion system architecture considering system requirements, select key propulsion components and identify main technology gaps requiring additional development activities.
