VVZ CR n/a

Last Updated: 2026-07-21 00:35:35

Abstract

This MAS is a holistic learning journey relating science, engineering, design, art, inner development, and embodied practices with place-specific hands-on engagement for planetary health. In this introductory module, content, structure, phases, and organization will be laid out, as well as the final stage of the Quest process. The field design trip is introduced.

Objective

The learning goals are to introduce this MAS module (as the final element of the MAS ETH in Regenerative Systems), its facets, and how it builds upon the CAS series. The Quest as a process tool comes to the fore, preparing the ground for synthesizing the previous CAS courses. The field design trip to the Swiss Alps in June and an ETH on-site visit offering a public Quest-pitching and visual dialogue event will be introduced to ease participation and self-organization. The MAS’ parallel virtual and physical learning process is hybrid.

Content

This MAS is introduced with its goals, content, structure, phases, and organization. We meet live virtually and occupy a prepared digital whiteboard, where our continuous visual dialogues and systems mapping occur. We focus on the final stage of the individual Quest process that was started in CAS#1 and is now completed with the MAS design thesis. The field design trip is explained in detail, and concrete steps are taken to help self-organize and prepare for the ETH on-site visit, including a public Quest-pitching and visual dialogue event.
