Objective
1. To understand the dynamic relationship between Strategy – Organisational structuring – and Organisational Behaviour; 2. To relate and interact with others successfully; 3. To be able to be a successful people manager; 4. To get a better insight in how others see myself; 5. To increase their personal mastery.
Content
The target group for this course is anyone who plans to become part of an organisation in his/her career and wants to understand the dynamics of organisational behaviours around him/her. The ultimate goal will not only be to become a more effective and efficient employee, but even stronger to become a better manager who wants to influence the behaviour of others. The course will be spread over 3 days in which 6 sub themes will be discussed moving from in Meso level ( = the organisation) to the micro level (= intrapersonal differences at the level of the individual). The Six themes are: 1. The dynamic relationship between Strategy – Organisational Structuring - and Organisational Behaviour. 2. Managing the Dominant coalition: the impact of power and networking in an organisation. 3. The fundamentals of People management. 4. Motivation in practice. 5. Managing Change and the art of Unlearning. 6. Personal Mastery: Managing myself in order to be successful. Fo each of these topics a PP will be available for the students together with some additional readings and cases and exercises we will be using in class. During the lectures students are expected to actively participate in class in order to discuss and do some role playing.
