Abstract
An overview of Marxist social theory and epistemology as well as post-Marxist reactions (such as Frankfurt school, structuralist Marxism, Post-colonial theory, Feminist appraoches, Operaismo).
Objective
This module will introduce the basic theoretical framework and concepts of Marxist social theory and epistemology, based on the Capital and other writings, as well as some major 20th-21st century reactions to Marxist theory. It will provide students with the means to understand and critically evaluate literature that relies on such theories.
