Module 1: Fundamentals of Structural Dynamics and Code Practice
Modul 1: Baudynamische Grundlagen und Normenpraxis
Last Updated: 2026-06-03 00:07:34
Abstract
Introduction to the physical fundamentals of structural dynamics, concepts of seismic hazard and seismic risk, as well as the normative implementation according to SIA 261 and SIA 269/8. The module combines mechanical understanding with code-based application.
Objective
The participants: - understand the vibration behaviour of single- and multi-degree-of-freedom systems, - can interpret and apply response spectra, - are familiar with the concepts of hazard, vulnerability and risk, - understand the relationship between hazard data and design actions in SIA 261, - know the fundamental principles for the assessment of existing structures according to SIA 269/8.
