Last Updated: 2026-07-21 00:36:36
Abstract
This one-week practical workshop focuses on experimental wood–clay hybrid constructions in sustainable building. Participants collaboratively develop and realize projects while engaging with material behavior, construction methods, and resource-efficient building processes. The workshop combines research and practice and promotes professional exchange.
Objective
After successfully completing the course, students will be able to: 1. Explain the fundamentals of wood–clay hybrid construction methods and their potential for climate-compatible and circular building. 2. Apply practical experience in working with clay, wood, and hybrid construction techniques. 3. Analyze and discuss material properties, manufacturing processes, and structural requirements at a 1:1 scale. 4. Critically reflect on the opportunities and challenges of resource-efficient construction methods at the intersection of research and practice.
