Abstract

Architecture of Territory investigates phenomena and processes of urban transformation of contemporary territories. The focus work allows students to develop an independent research project. The content of a focus work can refer to an elective course, a studio work or be freely chosen.

Objective

Description of the focus of the work, the method and the expected gain of knowledge. Execution of the scientific, artistic, journalistic or design-based project.

Content

Architecture of Territory investigates phenomena and processes of urban transformation of contemporary territories. This territorial approach comprises a shift of interest from cities to broader territorial frames, and to what was once considered the non-urban realm or the city’s “constitutive outside”: the city’s hinterlands, “rural” countrysides, agricultural or infrastructural landscapes. The specific content and format of the focus work can be proposed by the students to the chair proactively, and will subsequently be discussed with the supervisor.
