Focus Work Design and Architecture (IEA)
Vertiefungsarbeit Entwurf und Architektur (IEA)
Last Updated: 2026-06-03 00:07:23
Abstract
The Focus Work at the Chair of Architectural Behaviorology is conducted either as (A) a free-topic study proposed by students and defined in consultation with the professor, or as (B) a topic-based option, in which students work on a predefined theme assigned by the chair. Both formats aim to foster independent inquiry and design-oriented research within the field.
Objective
The focus work aims to enable students to formulate and articulate a clear research objective within the field of Architectural Behaviorology, while acquiring foundational knowledge in architectural design and construction. Students will further develop advanced architectural drawing skills and construct an appropriate research methodology aligned with their defined objectives. Through the collection, analysis, and evaluation of materials relevant to their chosen topic, students learn to present research outcomes in a systematic manner, using both written documentation and visual representation. Ultimately, they are expected to derive well-founded conclusions based on the observations and results obtained during the research process.
Content
Students are required to deliver three presentations during the semester, each accompanied by a corresponding grading session. These milestones provide a structured framework for the progression of the research and ensure continuous feedback throughout the development of the work.
Resources
Lecture Notes
Course materials, including assignment guidelines, and presentation requirements, are provided by the Chair of Architectural Behaviorology at the beginning of the semester. Additional documents relevant to the progress of each focus work will be made available during supervision meetings as needed.
