Abstract

The programme equips the next generation of leaders in the public sector and other governance-related fields with the competencies needed to navigate complex environments, bridge diverse perspectives, and contribute to effective governance solutions.

Objective

Participants learn to: Understand key governance frameworks and international blueprints; comprehend underlying drivers and challenges affecting governance; dissect multi-dimensional policy issues; lead effectively across the spectrum of technical, human and conceptual challenges.

Content

The program encompasses a sequence of one or half-day modules, which are organized into three interdisciplinary learning blocks: I. Contemporary Governance In this block, participants explore the foundations of governance in the 21st century. They examine how public institutions are organised and how legal and financial systems influence the way they operate. Participants also analyse how governance functions across different levels – from local to global – and how international cooperation is shaped by frameworks such as the Sustainable Development Goals. Finally, they engage with current challenges related to accountability, data, and digital transformation. II. Public Management The second block is designed to strengthen participants leadership and management capabilities in professional environments. They develop practical tools to lead teams, manage resources effectively, communicate with diverse stakeholders, and use both quantitative and qualitative data to make informed decisions in complex institutional settings. III. Policy Domains In the final block, participants apply governance tools to a range of globally relevant policy areas. They explore sector-specific challenges and examine how policies are designed and implemented across different domains. By connecting these perspectives, participants develop a broader understanding of how governance operates across sectors and refine their ability to make informed decisions in complex policy processes.
