Abstract
This course imparts a variety of teaching skills which will help Teaching Assistants with their teaching tasks.
Objective
In this course Teaching Assistants will ... • discuss learning science and teaching techniques with peers. • design the introduction of their course/lecture/exercise class. • develop learning activities according to learning objectives. • practice classroom assessment techniques in order to measure student learning. • engage in peer feedback in order to improve own teaching.
Content
We will meet for a short online kick-off meeting on 26 September. You will get detailed information together with the invitation email in the first week of the semester. The online phase, where you work through 6 modules in the Moodle course page will end in November where we will meet for a face-to-face consolidation workshop. The dates for the mandatory in-person consolidation workshops (3.5h) in November are between Monday 17.11 to Friday 21.11. We also offer an online workshop in this week. You are required to participate in one of these workshops. The exact dates will be announced at a later date You will find more information on the course page in Moodle.
