Signals and Systems I
Signal- und Systemtheorie I
Last Updated: 2026-06-03 00:07:41
Abstract
Foundations of signal and system theory: Continuous-time and discrete-time signals and systems are analyzed using mathematical methods.
Objective
- You can categorize signals and systems according to their properties. - You can characterize analog linear time-invariant systems in the time and frequency domains. - You can sample analog signals and understand the sampling theorem. - You can investigate the behavior of discrete-time systems. - You can use the discrete Fourier transform to analyze signals and compute it efficiently using the fast Fourier transform.
Content
• Signal analysis in time and frequency domains • Signal and Hilbert spaces • Linear time-invariant systems • Generalized functions • Sampling theorem • Discrete-time signals and systems (z-transform) • Discrete Fourier transform (DFT) • Fast Fourier transform (FFT)
