Abstract

This advanced, practice-based course prepares experienced student coaches to take on the role of coaching trainers. Participants lead existing workshops, offer 1:1 coaching to students, and design a training for an ETH internal client. The course includes intensive mentoring, peer feedback, and a final reflection report.

Objective

• Plan, facilitate, and reflect on coaching workshops by independently leading sessions based on existing teaching materials and applying facilitation best practices. • Apply core coaching competencies in individual coaching sessions with students, demonstrating the ability to build trust, ask powerful questions, and support learning processes. • Collaborate with an ETH internal client to design, implement, and evaluate a coaching workshop tailored to their specific context, learning objectives, and audience needs.

Content

What you'll do participating in this course: • Teach & Lead: Deliver 2–3 full workshop days from existing coaching lectures, which includes instructing and debriefing your co-facilitators. • Coach 1:1: Guide real students in the Coaching Students lecture through individual coaching sessions. • Design for Real Clients: Collaborate with an internal ETH client to design and deliver a tailored workshop or training series. You’ll handle everything from needs analysis to facilitation, mentored along the way. • Receive Mentoring: Benefit from intensive 1:1 coaching and feedback, plus reflective sessions and peer feedback. • Build Your Portfolio: Document your growth and insights in a final reflection report.
