Abstract

Through a blended approach combining theory, practice workshops, and real case applications, students will develop core facilitation skills. They will learn to design, lead, and debrief workshops that engage participants and promote learning.

Objective

- Design and structure workshops to meet diverse participant needs and learning objectives - Apply facilitation techniques to guide group dynamics and maintain engagement - Conduct debriefs to evaluate workshop outcomes and support participant learning - Reflect on and refine personal facilitation style through feedback and self-assessment - Integrate theoretical frameworks to enhance facilitation practices - Explore and test various workshop formats and methods in a supportive and safe learning environment during the lecture

Content

The lecture introduces participants to the role of a facilitator through a blended learning approach, combining interactive workshops and online theory. Course content is organized into four main areas: 1. Moderate, Motivate, Facilitate: The Art of Leading Engaging Workshops – Learning the theory behind how to organize great workshops, different facilitation methods, and how to engage participants. 2. Receive a briefing and test your newly acquired facilitation skills in a PBLabs workshop. 3. Prepare your own workshop, get feedback, and run your own workshop. 4. Visit a peer in their workshop session to share feedback and learn from them. Students engage in reflective practice through regular experience exchanges and participate in peer visits, providing feedback on each other’s facilitation skills.
