Abstract

The course focuses on shallow geothermal probes and geothermal well systems, but also covers topics such as deep geothermal energy and geothermal storage potential. Lecturers from industry, government agencies and research institutions provide practical input on issues such as quality assurance, licensing practices, strategic planning and the sustainable use of geothermal resources.

Objective

The aim of the course is to enable participants to describe the basic processes involved in geothermal energy use and to familiarise themselves with the legal framework. They will be able to assess the mutual influence of different uses and will learn how to take these into account in strategic planning.
