Applied Migration Research

Abstract
Students collaborate on original research on migration policy or politics. After an introduction to key topics and literature, the class selects a theme and, with instructor guidance, manages the full research process from design to data analysis to writing and publishing a paper, thereby building hands-on quantitative research skills.
Objective
Upon completion, course participants will have first-hand experience with collaborate research including project management, spanning the entire project cycle from ideation, study design and pre-analysis planning, field phase and data collection, statistical analysis and paper writing.
