Religious Dimensions of Digitalisation
Last Updated: 2026-06-03 00:14:55
Abstract
Digitalisation is transforming our lives on all levels – from the way we communicate, learn, and work, to fundamental questions of identity, ethics, and visions of the future. Religions are also affected by this transformation: they adapt, use digital spaces for preaching and community-building, or face new theological challenges.
Objective
This lecture series explores in an interdisciplinary perspective how religions shape and are shaped by digitalisation, examining the challenges and opportunities digital technologies bring to religious traditions, ethics, education, relationships, and society.
