Abstract
This learning unit has two courses. The lecture “Artistic Perspectives” will introduce students to artistic thought and reflection through the outlining of artistic concepts and class discussion around them. In the sessions called “Artistic Basics”, students will engage in drawing, and will submit exercise work. Both courses require attendance and participation.
Objective
Students engage in fundamental concepts in the arts, as well as the premise that ideas are foundations of creativity. This is expanded in the sessions of free and perspective drawing. In addition to acquiring artistic thought-processes and practices, students each develop their own artistic exercise works.
Content
"Artistic Perspetives” encompasses diverse and multi-disciplinary research fields, which are explained to students. These fields intersect artistic practice with language, political discourse, and investigations into the human and non-human environment. Concrete theoretical as well as speculative and practical procedures are offered to open up new horizons of perception, and a reflection on them. “Artistic Basics” interrelates physical processes such as sight, tactility, memory, movement, etc. as elements of drawing with the help of experiments and exercises, thus creating a wide variety of approaches to artistic practice.
