Abstract
The lecture on historical constructions deals with historical structures, building technology and mechanics. Each year, a different set of examples is selected.
Objective
The participants learn how to approach historical constructions. At the end of the lecture series, they have a basic understanding about the detailing, the effects caused by historic building processes, and the mechanical behaviour of historical buildings.
Content
In the spring term of 2024, we will cover: Wood as a building material and timber structures from antiquity to the early 20th century
