Abstract
Synchrotrons and free electron lasers produce powerful X-rays, pivotal for modern scientific research. This lecture explores the principles of synchrotron radiation, its properties, and impact on beam dynamics, along with diverse applications in materials science, biology, and chemistry, as well as future advancements in the field.
Objective
This course will prepare students for experimental or theoretical work on synchrotrons and free electron lasers. It is also recommended for prospective users of X-rays from these facilities.
