Abstract
The course introduces students to the product development process and engineering design. In a team, you will explore the early phases of conceptual development and product design, from ideation and concept generation through to hands-on prototyping. This is an opportunity to gain product development experience and improve your skills in prototyping and presenting your product ideas.
Objective
Learn fundamental topics in engineering design and product development. Learn one product development process and its benefits. Introduction to a variety of engineering design methods and models used in product development and design. Focus on the early design phases and conceptual design. Apply the methods immediately to a design project carried out in the exercises. Develop design reasoning and critical thinking skills.
