Abstract
To provide the students with good understanding of the problems and issues in corporate finance.
Objective
To study problems and issues in Corporate Finance in the context of real cases.
Content
The course studies the relation between firms and financial and foreign exchange markets. Topics considered are bond issuance, fixed income arbitrage, asset-liability management, a run on an insurance company, collateralized debt obligations (CDO) and credit default swaps (CDS), the securitisation of industrial and commercial loans, the hedging of foreign exchange risk, risk arbitrage in takeovers and venture capital. These are studied in the context of real cases.
