Abstract
Introduction to research on civil wars. This course covers the causes, processes and solutions to civil conflicts and wars.

Content
This lecture offers a comprehensive introduction to conflict studies, with a particular focus on topics related to geopolitics and civil wars. It covers fundamental theories and links them to key findings in modern conflict studies. Students develop an understanding of how to recognize and classify modern forms of violence and place them in a historical context. The course is supplemented by accompanying exercises in which we discuss the literature from the previous lecture together. These exercises are only compulsory for students of the B.A. Political Science program.
