Abstract
Identification and characterization of important sedimentary, magmatic and metamorphic rocks and discussion of their genesis in a well-constrained geological time frame.
Objective
Understanding of the geological significance of sedimentary, magmatic and metamorphic rocks. Documentation of stratigraphic logs and handling of rock samples.
Content
Field-observations (4 days) on basement and volcano-sedimentary cover rocks in the Southern Alps (eastern Lombardy). Analysis, documentation and interpretation of metamorphic (gneiss, schists) and magmatic (volcanic) rocks and sedimentary successions (conglomerates, sandstones, pelites, carbonates).
