Introductory Internship Sport
Einführungspraktikum Sport
Last Updated: 2026-06-03 00:35:57
Abstract
During the introductory teaching practice, the students sit in on 1-3 lessons given by the teacher responsible for their teaching practice, and teach 7-9 lessons themselves. The students are given observation and reflection assignments by the teacher responsible for their teaching practice.
Objective
Right at the start of their training, students acquire initial experience with the observation of teaching, the establishment of concepts for teaching and the implementation of teaching. This early confrontation with the complexity of everything that teaching involves helps students decide whether they wish to and, indeed, ought to, continue with the training. It forms a basis for the subsequent pedagogical and subject-didactics training.
Content
The introductory internship offers students an insight into the everyday working life of a teacher. The internship teacher determines observation and reflection assignments and the topics of the lessons to be taught. The results of the work assignments are documented in writing and form part of the student's portfolio. During the observation sessions, the internship teacher explains the subject-specific, didactic and pedagogical considerations on the basis of which he/she has planned the lessons and discusses them with the student. The internship teacher conducts preliminary and follow-up discussions for the lessons that the student teaches him/herself.
