Quiver Representations

Abstract
We will introduce quivers and their representations, understand their relation to the representation theory of finite-dimensional algebras, learn concepts from category theory and finally prove Gabriel’s theorem classifying all quivers of finite representation type.
Objective
The objectives are: (1) for students to gain a solid understanding of representation theory of quivers, (2) to develop their skills in reading mathematical texts, and (3) to enhance their presentation skills. For each session, reading material will be assigned along with a session leader. The session leader will present the assigned material and lead a short discussion following the presentation. Assessment will be based on participation in the seminar, with particular emphasis on the session led by each student.
