Abstract

Solving analytical problems; Development and interpretation of analytical methods.

Objective

1. Understanding Regulatory Standards: o Objective: Students will be able to identify and explain the key regulatory standards and guidelines set by major pharmacopeias (USP, BP, EP). o Outcome: Students will demonstrate knowledge of compliance requirements for pharmaceutical products. 2. Mastering Analytical Techniques: o Objective: Students will gain proficiency in using various analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, infrared spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry. o Outcome: Students will perform accurate qualitative and quantitative analyses of pharmaceutical compounds. 3. Impurity Profiling: o Objective: Students will learn methods for detecting and quantifying impurities in pharmaceutical products. o Outcome: Students will conduct impurity profiling and assess the final product 4. Stability Testing: o Objective: Students will understand the importance of stability testing and learn how to conduct stability studies. o Outcome: Students will evaluate the stability of pharmaceutical products under various conditions and determine appropriate storage guidelines. 5. Data Analysis and Interpretation: o Objective: Students will develop skills in analyzing and interpreting data from analytical experiments. o Outcome: Students will critically evaluate experimental results and make informed decisions based on data. 6. Documentation and Reporting: o Objective: Students will learn the importance of accurate documentation and reporting in pharmacopeial analysis. o Outcome: Students will prepare comprehensive reports that document their lab work 7. Ethical and Professional Practices: o Objective: Students will understand the ethical considerations and professional practices in pharmaceutical analysis. o Outcome: Students will adhere to ethical guidelines and demonstrate professional conduct in their work. Practical Skills Development 1. Hands-on Laboratory Experience: o Objective: Students will gain practical experience in conducting pharmacopeial analyses in a laboratory setting. o Outcome: Students will demonstrate proficiency in laboratory techniques and safety protocols. 2.
